HOW TO CHOOSE A MINERAL FOUNDATION
One of the best ways to choose a foundation color off the net is to go to the nearest high end store with good lighting and try on some colors.
• Apply some to your jaw line/cheek – if it disappears the you have it

Most Caucasians, Asians and many African Americans have olive undertones to their skin and so need to choose a base with some yellow in it. Some African Americans need to look for something with a bit more of a reddish/orange tone.

HOW TO APPLY LIQUID FOUNDATION
• Put small dots of foundation on chin, cheeks, forehead and tip of nose
• With clean fingers, sponge or brush blend the dots outward and upward
• Smooth tiny bit over eyelids to even out color and provide base for eye shadow
• Blend foundation into hairline
• With a wash of color (add a little water or moisturizer to your base) blend the foundation down your neck line and over your ears
• Spritz
• Powder with setting powder when spritz is dry

CREAM FOUNDATIONS
• Note since i have not found any crème foundations to be Paraben free i have not included them in this area
MINERAL POWDER FOUNDATIONS
Sappho mineral foundations
• Light, silky and smooth unlike no other mineral makeup
• Free of preservatives, talc, wax, oil and fragrances, Parabens and phthalates
• Has some degree of sunscreen uva and uvb protection
• Primarily suits youthful skin
• When applied properly can be worn by women with more mature skin
Warning – not all mineral powder foundations are chemical free

Aways make sure your moisturizer is fully absorbed before application of mineral makeup to avoid

HOW TO APPLY POWDER MINERAL FOUNDATION
Use just a small amount of the powdered minerals in the lid.
Start on a clean face after your moisturizer is absorbed to avoid streaking
Begin application with a circular motion starting at the outer part of the face working inward and buff with the brush until you are happy with the coverage.
TYPES OF MINERAL CONCEALER
Wand:
• Like a liquid foundation but a bit creamier and comes with it’s own applicator .you may want to smooth it out with a brush or sponge
Pot:
• Much like a cream foundation, heavier and more coverage than a wand, blend well in any creases or wrinkles,-
• can be thinned down with serum or moisturizer
• Can be powdered but very lightly!!
• Sappho concealer are Paraben & phthalate free give great coverage
Mineral foundations
• It is possible to create your own concealer by adding moisture to sappho powder mineral foundation
• You get the perfect color match and can make whatever consistency you need.
Caution: if you have a raised scar putting makeup on it will only extenuate it
MAKEUP TIP
• If you are a person of color, a color 1-2 shades lighter than your foundation
• A touch of orange is often helpful in covering dark circles without making the skin appear ashy
NATURAL MINERAL POWDERS
Purpose: used to ‘set’ a foundation or to take down shine
